\u00a0<\/pre>\nThe Medway Golf Club has activated access to the MiScore digital scoring app through to October 2020 at least with the intention to continue.<\/p>\n
Self Scoring Submission is now\nactive on the MiScore App for the club<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is no change to the method of scoring for using the app with a player and partner still marking each other’s scores and checking that all is correct by hole and at conclusion of round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The miscore app will now only submit the score of the device user not the playing partner. So is quite similar to the end of the round where a player would go to the scoring kiosk and scan or enter their own scores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Of greater benefit is for a player that is using the app and their partner is using a scorecard. There is no need for the app user to have a scorecard to hand to their partner to ensure their score is submitted to the competition<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The self scoring submission is within the guidelines of recent Golf Australia temporary rule to permit non-exchange of scorecards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We highly recommend using this app during the COVID-19 crisis to mitigate contact between players, kiosk PCs, and the handling and exchange of scorecards. Physical scorecards will still be available at the club for those who wish to use them. The MiScore App is available for download<\/a> and allows members and visitors to enter the hole by hole scores during their round rather than using a traditional scorecard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This scoring app has recently been approved by the R&A and Golf Australia as a method of scoring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n New scoring rule amendment from Golf Australia<\/p>\n\n\n\n Scoring in Stroke Play, Stableford, Par, and Maximum Score<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n In view of concerns about handling and exchanging scorecards, on a temporary basis, Committees MAY CHOOSE<\/strong> to allow methods of scoring in stroke play, Stableford, Par, and Maximum Score that do not strictly comply with Rule 3.3b, or do not comply with the normal methods used under Rule 3.3b. For example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n After scoring on the MiScore App, please sign as the marker and include the initials of your playing partner in the \u2018player\u2019 box.
