Staff update / recruitment

New staff required

Function/ Lounge Supervisor

We are still sourcing 1 or 2 experienced hospitality people to join our bar/ function team as we head into more growth and peak season. Experience preferred. The positions can be either casual, permanent part-time or full time depending on the candidates work life balance and our needs.

If you know the right person email generalmanager@medwaygolf.com.au or ask them to call Brett.

Assistant PGA Professional

We are sourcing via the PGA website for PGA members only however if you know a PGA member who may suit ask them to contact Brett. In the meantime Jack McKenzie will run school holiday and term 3 junior program. If a member needs assistance with their game whilst Alex is away for 6 weeks contact John Dixon for help.

Our Teaching Professional/ Assistant PGA Professional Alex Pitty has accepted a position with a company called The Golf Network as their Victorian Business Development Manager. Alex will finish up on June 25th, before his wedding and honeymoon, before returning briefly in August to tidy up some coaching obligations.

Alex will continue to teach with the Maribyrnong Golf Academy on Tuesday nights, help run the Pro Am and be an active playing member of the club, so we will see him at the club regularly.

We also welcome Margie and Enzo to the lounge front house team. Jacob Ngo, Thomas Ngo and James Nass have been added to the golfshop team. Welcome Aaron and John to the course team replacing Graeme Davin and Phung who have left us recently.

CART HIRE, NEW CARTS & GPS

A new fleet of 16 new carts will arrive shortly replacing our older carts. This will bring us up to a fleet of 18 to better cater for demand. 2 of  the original carts in the fleet remain.

All carts will be installed with GPS technology enhancing your experience on course. The GPS (once staff are trained) will ensure carts are driven in areas where appropriate for the conditions, pace of play can be managed and other great features will enhance your golfing experience.

As a result of the arrival of new carts and a higher rental fee charged to us –  the member with medical cart hire will move from $20 for 18 holes to $25 shortly. The 9 hole hire will be $15. Members cart hire (without medical) is to remain $35 for 18 holes , $20 for 9.  Visitors pay $45 for 18 holes cart hire and $25 for 9 holes.

Golfstaff will see a medical icon next to your name on the timesheet to correctly charge the correct fee. Members will not see it. If you have any queries or are charged $35 for cart hire but would like to be added to  the medical member list to receive the discounted cart hire please email medical certificate to  info@medwaygolf.com.au if you are not on it.

Only the general manager will see the email and once the icon is ticket, the medical information is destroyed for privacy reasons. Golfshop staff are just following training to correctly charge as they see it. If you have any queries please see the general manager.

Staff and member Safety

With increase playing numbers please be aware to minimise risk on course;

Ground staff have right of way- if a golfer sees a ground staff member working they must wait before playing until they are out of range or signal to hit.

We roster ground staff accordingly to minimize interference on main competition days or work early morning.

Beware of Snakes at all times
