Medway Golf Club – Junior Coordinator
We welcome and thank Mr John Taylor and Sam Schepis for helping the club by taking on the junior coordinator roles. Both are excellent golfers with a long pennant history. John and Sam will assist staff and on behalf of the golf committee help juniors feel comfortable at the club and be aware or programs coming up.
John Dixon PGA Professional, Jack Mackenzie, Jake Killeen Teaching Professional will all assist junior pennant managers and sub-committees to deliver our Junior Program.
JUNIOR – Stage 1 – Join Our Weekly Junior Clinics:
We run weekly junior clinics during school terms. The following classes are running at the moment
For all junior clinic enquiries, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
Clinics are also available in the school holidays, with dates and times advertised in the lead up to them.
Junior Clinic Series– run during each school term
Dates – see MyGolf link below for dates and bookings or the coaching page under golfshop on the website
JUNIOR Stage 2 – Starting on course play
Keen to progress from group classes to more on course play.
Once the Junior, join as a cadet or junior member- see below membership options we hope to start development sessions on course Saturday afternoons at 4pm. 90 minutes on course. Non coaching- learning golf rules/ ettiquette, fun comp play to develop into main club competitions- Stage 3.
We also run school holiday programs designed for current Juniors and cadets to progress at a higher level and to make friends.
Twilight hours are a great way to help a junior start on course play. Starter/ junior tees in place if needed.
For those juniors who understand rules and etiquette – once the club grant playing rights – tee times are popular around 11.45am off the 6th tee every Saturday for Junior with Golflink handicaps. These times allow juniors to play together and meet others to develop friendships.
JUNIOR Stage 3 – Club Competition Play
With a handicap and some on course experience under their belt, playing in our weekly club competitions on Saturday afternoons and on Sundays is absolutely welcomed. From here, we encourage our juniors to continue to improve their golf and hopefully become involved in club pennant and junior events.
All Medway juniors receive a $6 rebate back to their house account on all Medway comp fees paid at the end of each month.
JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP – Golfers Aged 12-17
Junior members have course access on Sunday afternoons and on weekdays. Medway prides itself on being an inclusive golf club where juniors are made to feel welcome and encouraged during their membership.
Juniors will be allowed to play at peak times (Saturdays included) once they gain a good understanding of the rules, etiquette and reach a maturity enabling them to play with everyone at the club.
