1st October 2025

9th Bunkers/ Medway Foundation

The rebuild of the 3 – 9th hole bunkers has gone to tender. We hope to have this project done in the summer of 2025/26.  Thank you for those who supported the Reverse Draw this year and the Medway Foundation. Proceeds will go towards this project.

We hope to raise a further $10K by the end of 2025 to fund this project.

Tees

We will remove the Blue and white tees on occasions to save wear and tear on the tees. Check the app or timesheet for details.

The 12th tee will get some attention shortly to improve the area near the 11th green and the pathway.

Volunteers Report

OCTOBER

Day One

Cleaned all the gutters along the paths to 1st tee, 6th tee and the 13th tee.

Raked up and removed fallen debris from under trees at various locations.

Placed a load of mulch behind the 7th tee and around the 3rd tee.

Trimmed and cleaned up the garden bed at the rear of the club house.

Trimmed the hedge at the old Pro Shop.

Cut back all the shrubs that had grown onto the pathway at the 7th tee.

Sanded fairway divots on holes 1, 2, and 3.

 

SEPTEMBER

Day One

The Volunteer team with 10 attending spent almost a full day assisting the ground staff and 4 club members with the clean up of the greens following the September coring..

Day Two

Laid sand around the edge of the new turf laid along the path from the 4th tee.

Two loads of mulch were laid into a couple of garden beds.

Cut out the tree stumps right of the 7th tee after previous removal of the shrubs and also trimmed the shrubs back off the tee line.

Removed two unwanted bushes that had established in the patinea hedge along the old 1st green.

In the garden bed behind the 15th tee, trimmed low lying and removed broken branches. Also removed all dead wood from the shrubs.

Raked up and removed all fallen debris from under the gum trees on the bends of the 15th and 16th holes.  

Trimmed the grasses in front of the 13th tee

Note- Ground staff have right of way at all times

Weekly Course Schedules

Greens

  • mowed, dew whipped or rolled- 7 days a week
  • 3ml cutting heights
  • Holes cut- 3 times per week 

Fairways

Mowed- weekly- and more regular at times as required- less often during winter. 10ml cutting heights

Bunkers

  • raked Tuesday, Friday 
  • Edges- trimmed – as required
  • Constant manage sand depth
  • Tees/ Surrounds

General

  • Rough cut – as required- 30- 40ml-heights.
  • Ball washers/ Bins/ Sand boxes, Buckets, Car park clean weekly/ twice weekly- 
  • Tee plate Rotation- twice week
  • Tee Divot repair- weekly
  • Sand boxed topped weekly
  • Bins emptied- weekly
  • Car park and entrance cleaning weekly

Annual Maintenance Plan

Greens

  • Dusted- every 4-6 weeks- typically Mondays- course staff have right of way beginning August 2024
  • Note- Monday comp may be suspended on occasions if course maintenance doesn’t allow for comp to be played
  • Small Aerated – as required 
  • Fertilizer/ Feed – as required
  • Weed/ Disease eradication- as required
  • Greens Renovation Corring- March & September week 1 2025 and 2026  

Fairways

  • Aeration fairways- new added April 2025- aeration and assists in water penetration 
  • Pre emergent spray winter grass- Autumn
  • Post eradication spray of winter grass- Winter
  • Surrounds Aerated – as required
  • Scarified- December 2025- new 

Bunkers

  • Walk in / re-shape faces, edging- monitoring sand depth ongoing – 

Tees/ Surrounds

  • Tee levelling- sanding/ top dressing / seeding – as required 

General

  • Rough clean up- volunteers/ staff after storm damage
  • Arborist- regular

Irrigation

  • Sprinklers under review
  • Some new sprinklers to be installed in 2025  to reduce water wastage
